Your project delivered a digital asset. Know what it's worth.
ForensicBIM audits the model data you received and gives it a carrying amount, so you can recognise it on your balance sheet and budget to maintain it. It also estimates the potential savings and gives suggestions for improvements to maximise it.
From file to balance sheet in three steps
No BIM expertise needed to read the result. Every number comes with a plain-language explanation.

Audit
We check geometry, information and structure, and flag what's missing.
Value
Get a carrying amount, a useful life and what raising the quality would save in operations.
Built for the people who own the asset
Model data is paid for as part of project costs. Most owners never account for it or budget to maintain it.
Asset owners & public agencies
Know what you received, what it's worth and what it costs to keep it usable.
Finance & audit teams
A defensible basis for recognising and capitalising model data as an intangible asset.
Design & BIM leads
Show clients the quality of what you hand over, backed by an independent audit.
Reporting that fits your accounting framework
The valuation methodology is designed to fit the frameworks public and private asset owners actually report under, wherever you are.
Buildings and infrastructure
Useful life and value adjust to the type of asset. Infrastructure data can stay useful for up to 50 years.
Proven skills, not a self-reported grade
Every file that clears a bar earns a badge automatically — no self-reporting, no guessing. And every badge ever earned, across every file, collects into your own trophy case.
Trust & Validation
Whether the file itself can be relied on — valid IFC, real IFC (not mostly generic proxies), a clean export, georeferenced, bSDD-linked.
Data Completeness
How much of the model's data is actually filled in — classification, materials, quantities and typed elements — tiered gold and silver.
Fit for Use
Whether the model is ready for a specific downstream job: take-off, AI analysis, operations & FM, energy analysis, digital product passport.
19 quality badges — earned by your files, and by you
Every badge you've ever earned, across every file you've analyzed, collects into your own trophy case: a shareable, anonymized page you can link to a colleague or client.
A few of our favourite features
A small sample of what's in every report.
Alignment & continuity check
For infrastructure built with IFC4.3 alignments — bridges, roads, rail.
Live buildingSMART validation
Optional, official schema & syntax compliance verification.
3D viewer, no plugins
Every model opens in a full WebAssembly viewer in your browser.
Real-world location view
Georeferenced models placed on a live map at their true coordinates.
Geometry heatmap
A density map of the model's own triangles, so the heaviest parts jump out.
AI-ready export
Every metric, formatted to drop straight into your favourite AI chat.
The numbers are only as good as what's behind them
We'd rather show you a defensible range than a confident-looking guess.
The valuation engine is calibrated from real hour-estimates given by experienced BIM professionals, and tested against a benchmark of thousands of real IFC files — not a single assumption pulled from thin air.
We fit it with regression analysis and Bayesian methods, and we deliberately avoid false precision: every valuation is shown as a range, with its own statistical likelihood, rather than one confident-looking number. Pro users can tune the assumptions behind it — like the average hourly rate — to match their own market.
It's built on a large, continuously tested body of BIM and construction-economics expertise — and it keeps getting re-calibrated as more real models and more expert input come in.
